The artist was searching for a combination of images which resonated in an unexpected way. He was drawn to the delirious smiles of the dancers and felt that they would work well if displaced from their context and set in an odd environment.
The fact that the dancers are young and jumping over a bush made him think of regeneration, hence the title ‘Spring Rites’.

A Proof of Provenance is an official document that establishes the genuine nature of an artwork. Issued by a credible authority, this may be signed directly by the creator, the gallery representing the creator, or the specialist who collaborated with the artist. In cases of traded artworks, authenticated bodies or designated foundations may issue such certifications.
These documents are comprehensive, usually detailing the artist’s name, specifics of the artwork (including title, creation date, materials used, size), and ideally, an image of the art piece itself.
