Christopher Kieling is a Berlin-based artist born in 1988. He graduated from Central Saint Martins with a BA in Graphic Design. After completing his four-year stay in London, he had his first solo exhibition at The Book Club in 2012. Chris initially started his artistic journey with ink drawings and printmaking, but later switched to oil and acrylic painting. His design background and love for mark-making combine to create visually stunning artworks with bold compositions and technical finesse.
Christopher was born into a family of stage actors, which shaped his perspective from an early age. Throughout his artistic career, his family’s influence became more evident. His compositions often resemble stages, allowing his protagonists and their surroundings to engage in a dialogue. Props and expressive gestures are used to create a narrative that challenges the viewer to unravel.
