Your relationship with ArtRewards is built on clarity. This page explains one of its defining features: the arrangement is non-exclusive, and you remain free to sell your work wherever you choose. It also sets out a single, limited condition that applies when ArtRewards introduces a collector to you. Understanding both points helps you sell with confidence and know exactly where you stand.
A Non-Exclusive Relationship
Representation on ArtRewards is non-exclusive. You retain the unrestricted right to exhibit, sell, or otherwise transact your artworks through any other gallery, platform, agent, or channel at any time.
Joining ArtRewards places no limit on your wider practice. You may list the same work elsewhere, pursue direct commissions, and maintain relationships with other representatives, all while your portfolio is presented to collectors here. The platform exists to extend your reach, never to constrain it.
The Non-Circumvention Condition
One focused condition accompanies this freedom. For a period of twelve (12) months following an introduction made through the ArtRewards platform, you agree not to complete direct sales with the introduced buyer for the purpose of avoiding commission.
In other words, where ArtRewards brings a collector to your work, that collector should be transacted through the platform during this window rather than taken off-platform to bypass the commission the introduction made possible. The condition is deliberately narrow in both time and scope, and it applies only to the specific circumstances described below.
Which Buyers the Condition Applies To
The condition applies only to buyers for whom ArtRewards can demonstrate a direct introduction or mediation.
The distinction is precise and evidence-based. If ArtRewards connected you with a collector — surfacing your work to them, facilitating their inquiry, or mediating the relationship — that introduction is what the condition protects. Where no such introduction can be demonstrated, the condition does not apply.
Buyers Who Are Fully Exempt
Collectors with whom you already had a relationship are fully exempt.
If you had documented prior contact with a buyer before any introduction through the platform, your freedom to transact with them directly is entirely unaffected. The condition never reaches relationships you brought with you. Keeping clear records of your existing contacts and prior dealings is the simplest way to establish an exemption should a question ever arise.
Why This Policy Exists
The purpose of this policy is to keep the relationship fair and transparent for both parties.
ArtRewards acts as your agent, investing in the marketing, promotion, and curation that place your work in front of the right collectors. When that effort results in an introduction, the commission on the resulting sale is how the platform is compensated for the connection it created. The non-circumvention condition simply ensures that introductions made on your behalf are honored for a defined period, preserving the integrity of the agency relationship.
At the same time, the policy is carefully limited. It safeguards genuine introductions without touching your existing network, your other sales channels, or your long-term freedom to work as you see fit. The result is a balanced arrangement: your independence remains intact, and the service that brings new collectors to your work remains sustainable.
