When you place your work on ArtRewards, you entrust us with its presentation to a discerning international audience. That trust rests on a clear understanding of what remains yours and what you permit us to do on your behalf. This page sets out the rights you retain in your work, the marketing license you grant by joining, the limits that bind ArtRewards, and how the license is treated once your agreement ends.
You Retain Full Ownership and Copyright
You retain full ownership, copyright, and all other intellectual property rights in and to your artworks at all times.
Nothing on ArtRewards transfers, assigns, or diminishes those rights. The creative authorship of each piece remains yours, without exception, for the entire duration of your agreement and beyond. Representation on the platform concerns the sale and promotion of your work — never the ownership of it.
The Marketing License You Grant
To present your work effectively to collectors, you grant ArtRewards a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license for marketing and promotional purposes during the term of your agreement.
This license allows ArtRewards to use:
- Images of your artworks — reproduced to showcase your pieces across the platform and its promotional channels
- Your name — attributed to your work and used in connection with its promotion
- Your likeness — where relevant to presenting you and your practice
- Your biographical details — to situate your work and introduce you to prospective collectors
Because the license is non-exclusive, it never restricts your freedom to use these same materials elsewhere, or to grant comparable permissions to other galleries, agents, or platforms. Because it is royalty-free, its sole purpose is the promotion of your work — not a separate commercial exploitation of your name or image.
The Limits on Reproduction
The license is defined by its purpose, and ArtRewards operates strictly within it.
ArtRewards may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from your artworks for any purpose beyond those explicitly granted, without your prior written consent. The permission you extend covers marketing and promotion during your agreement — nothing more. Any use that falls outside that scope requires your express approval in advance.
This boundary ensures that your work is presented only in the ways you have sanctioned, and that control over every other use remains firmly with you.
How the License Is Treated After Termination
When your agreement ends, the marketing license does not continue in full. It survives solely for archival purposes — for example, records of past exhibitions and the historical materials that document your presence on the platform.
Beyond that limited archival scope, the license ceases. After termination, ArtRewards will not use your images, name, likeness, or biography in new promotions without your written consent. The distinction is deliberate: the historical record of your participation may remain, but your work will not feature in fresh promotional activity once the relationship has concluded, unless you agree to it.
