Your listings are the first point of contact between your work and the collectors who browse ArtRewards. This page explains how pricing works, how discounts are handled, the standards your listings must meet, and your role as the seller of record. Following these guidelines keeps your portfolio accurate, consistent, and ready for sale.
You Control Pricing and Curation
You hold full authority over the curation and pricing of your portfolio. You decide which works to present, how they are grouped, and the price each piece carries.
ArtRewards does not set prices on your behalf or adjust your figures. The value you assign to each work is yours to determine, and you may revise it at any time through your dashboard.
How Discounts Are Handled
ArtRewards may not apply any discount to your work without your prior written consent. No reduction is offered to a buyer unless you have approved it.
When granting consent, you may specify the exact discount percentage you are willing to extend. Where a discount is applied, the commission is calculated on the discounted net price — that is, the amount actually paid by the buyer after the reduction — rather than the original listed price.
This arrangement keeps pricing decisions firmly in your hands and ensures that any concession to a collector reflects terms you have agreed to in advance.
Listing Accuracy
You are solely responsible for providing and maintaining accurate information for each artwork you list. Precise, well-documented listings help collectors make informed decisions and protect you from avoidable disputes.
For every piece, please confirm that the following details are correct and kept up to date:
- Price — the current amount you are asking for the work
- Availability — whether the piece is available, reserved, or sold
- Location — where the artwork is held
- Medium — the materials and technique used
- Dimensions — the accurate measurements of the piece
Keeping this information current is an ongoing responsibility. If a work sells elsewhere, moves location, or changes in any material way, update your listing promptly so that what appears on the platform reflects reality.
Image and Data Submission Guidelines
A considered image allows a collector to appreciate the texture, scale, and detail of your work. To present each piece at its best, follow our submission guidelines on image quality and data accuracy.
In practice, this means:
- Photographing each work clearly, in good light, and at high resolution
- Representing colour, surface, and proportion as faithfully as possible
- Entering artwork details completely and without error
- Reviewing each listing before it goes live to confirm the information is correct
Consistent standards across every listing strengthen both the presentation of your portfolio and the overall quality of the marketplace.
You Are the Seller of Record
For tax purposes, you are the seller of record for every work you sell through ArtRewards. ArtRewards acts strictly as your agent, facilitating the sale rather than owning or reselling your work.
As the seller of record, you remain responsible for all taxes that apply in your jurisdiction, including income tax, VAT, GST, and sales tax. Full details on how this relates to your payments are covered in the Artist Payments and Payouts page below.
