Every working relationship benefits from a clear account of how it may end. This page explains how you can close your account, how either party may bring the agreement to a conclusion, and what becomes of your profile, your data, and your active sales once you do. It also sets out the difference between stepping down to Basic Access and leaving the platform altogether, along with the law that governs your agreement and the protections that safeguard your information throughout.
How Either Party May Terminate
Either party may terminate the agreement by written notice, including by email. The relationship is not bound by complex exit procedures: a clear, documented request is all that is required to begin the process.
This mutual right applies equally to you and to ArtRewards. Written notice establishes a dependable record of the request and the date it was made, which keeps the steps that follow orderly and transparent.
How to Terminate Your Account
To remove your profile from ArtRewards entirely, submit a written request to info@artrewards.net. Our support team is available 24/7, so your request can be received at any time.
Once your request is received, the removal process begins promptly, and the outcome described in the next section takes effect.
What Happens to Your Profile and Data
Upon termination, your profile and all associated data are permanently removed from the platform within 24 hours.
Please note that this removal is final. No data is retained or recoverable after termination. If you wish to keep copies of your listings, images, analytics, or any other records held within your account, download or preserve them before you submit your request.
What Happens to Active Sales Transactions
Ending your agreement does not disrupt a sale already in progress. Upon termination, all active sales transactions are completed in accordance with the existing terms under which they began.
A buyer who has already purchased a work can expect that sale to proceed to its proper conclusion, and you can expect the corresponding payout to be handled under the terms that applied at the time of sale. Termination governs the future of your account, not the obligations of a transaction already underway.
What Happens to Inactive Listings
All inactive listings are removed from the platform within 24 hours of termination. Works that are not part of an active transaction are withdrawn as part of the same process that removes your profile, so that nothing remains published once your account has closed.
Downgrading Compared With Full Termination
It is worth distinguishing between two different actions, as they lead to very different outcomes:
- Downgrading returns your account to Basic Access. Your profile remains on ArtRewards, and you continue to have access to your dashboard and the standard features it provides. This is a change of access level, not a departure from the platform.
- Full termination removes your profile and all associated data from ArtRewards entirely, as described above. This is a complete exit, not an adjustment.
If your intention is simply to step back rather than leave, a downgrade preserves your presence on the platform. Full termination should be chosen only when you wish to close your account altogether.
Data Protection and Confidentiality
Throughout your relationship with ArtRewards, both parties agree to maintain the confidentiality of non-public information and to comply with applicable privacy laws, including the GDPR.
Your personal details, account information, and other non-public data are handled with care and used only for the purposes connected to your account and representation on the platform. These commitments remain central to how your information is managed, both during your agreement and in the manner it is removed once that agreement ends.
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
Your agreement is governed by Norwegian law.
In the event of a disagreement, disputes are addressed through a clear, staged process:
- Negotiation — the parties first seek to resolve the matter directly between themselves.
- Mediation — where negotiation does not settle the matter, it proceeds to mediation through the Norwegian Mediation Centre.
- The Oslo courts — should mediation prove unsuccessful, the matter is resolved exclusively in the courts of Oslo.
This sequence favours practical, good-faith resolution before any formal proceedings, and it establishes a single, predictable jurisdiction for any dispute that cannot be settled otherwise.
