Carlo Caldara

Carlo Caldara‘s artistic journey is defined by an unrelenting exploration of existence, identity, and the passage of time. His work, spanning painting, sculpture, installation, and photography, is infused with existential questions that seek to redefine humanity’s place in the world. By merging symbolic references with raw materials, he crafts visual narratives that challenge perception and evoke deep contemplation. The interplay between permanence and impermanence is central to his artistic inquiry, as he navigates the delicate balance between materiality and the ephemeral nature of life.

He graduated in medicine and at the same time attended at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan.

The art of Carlo Caldara, has an existential approach to the identity of man in the world. He has an eclectic attitude towards art, with cycles of various works. He uses painting, photography and creates works, sculptures and installations with various materials, such as polymer cement, coal, mirrored metals, gauzes, stones and LED lights. He also made some short videos.

In 2017, he presented the project of two personal exhibitions, called "True story", at the Vittoriano Museum in Rome and at the Guatemala Pavilion of the Venice Biennale.                            In 2019, he presented a project for the 58th International Art Exhibition -La Biennale of Venice, at Grenada Pavilion, where he exhibited a large globe entitled "MEMORY WAYS", work inspired by the speech given by the Caribbean poet Derek Walcott, at the Nobel Prize ceremony, where the metaphor of the Antilles made up of fragments of original continents expresses the multiculturalism and the various ethnic groups of the Caribbean islands.

2016:“Living your dream”, curated by F.C.Simonelli, G.Monti and E. Beluffi, at the Milan Triennale, XXI International Triennale                                            2017:”True Story”,curated by C.Strinati, at the Vittoriano Complex in Rome and in the Guatemala Pavilion of the 57th Venice Biennale
